Ivan Schultze - master of lyrical landscape Russian artistic exile.
Trainee Konstantin Yakovlevich Kryzhitsky art education at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. His first exhibition was held at the Academy in 1903, after which he became a well-deserved party at all major galleries in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and was elected as a court painter to Emperor Nicholas II. For his achievements in the arts, he was encouraged by traveling abroad and was able to devote a significant amount of time studying the nature, traveling throughout Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Arctic. After the Russian Revolution, he emigrated to Paris. The artist becomes a party to welcome the French salons, his first solo exhibition in Paris (1923) took place in the gallery Gerard Freres, Ivan works were sold on the opening day. Similar successes have been at his personal exhibition in London (1927), where all his works sold during the first six days. Exhibitions in New York (1931) and Chicago (1933) as well were a great success. Throughout his life Ivan Schultze valued as a brilliant portraitist analytical nature. London Times article about the artist summarized the aesthetic achievements of the painter, saying: "We have to see to believe."
